Ann Rosén: Walking in the Now

Using graphite and paper connected to electronic systems, Ann Rosén generates, shapes, and processes sound in real time. Graphite’s inherent resistance, affected by humidity and temperature, directly influences the sound, and makes each performance unique to the space. What happens in the room shapes not only the listening experience, but the material itself. With Walking in the Now, Ann Rosén invites the audience into a shared listening experience rooted in the present moment.

Swedish composer and sound artist. In her ongoing project Drawing Session, pencil drawings are the actual instrument, lines turn into sound, scores and music when drawn live. Her focus never leaves the present moment.
